Saint Francis University believes in the holistic development of our students. As a Catholic, Franciscan institution, we believe that the premise for that development is a strong grasp of Franciscan values. The Center for Student Engagement preserves the mission of Saint Francis University through co-curricular and extra-curricular activities as a valuable component to the out-of-classroom experience. The Center for Student Engagement advises over 70 clubs, organizations, fraternities, and sororities and serves as the primary resource for student groups wishing to gain support and guidance when planning their programs and events or managing their organizations. To fulfill our commitment to student learning, the office promotes engagement and participation in the social, cultural, spiritual, recreational, and intellectual life of the University while instilling in the students the capacity for both independent and collaborative action. In our work as the prinicipal advisors to student organizations, the office fosters qualities of character, civility, and critical thinking skills. This is achieved through opportunities in campus-community engagement and leadership development services offered through our office. All of these opportunities contribute to the interaction of students, faculty, and administrators in order to foster leadership development, personal growth, social competency, greater appreciation for diversity, meaningful leisure activities for lifelong living and learning, a stronger concept of self and the greater society, and a commitment and sense of belonging to the Saint Francis University community. |
