The SFU Emerging Leaders are students who have a strong desire to refine and develop their leadership skills and abilities. In addition to attending training seminars, we enjoy providing volunteer service to many campus and community initiatives, as well as experiencing new adventures and exciting opportunities to develop as values-based leaders. We actively participate in this program as a method of self-discovery and professional development. Our philosophy is that we should strive to Learn the Way so that we may Know the Way; then to Model the Way so that we may Teach the Way. It is then that we Emerge as Leaders. The program seeks to establish integrated learning opportunities that will fully incorporate the core competencies of the F.L.A.S.H. Leadership initiative. The program will encompass the students' first three years at SFU while providing a unique experience each year. Only incoming Freshmen students are eligible to join. Incoming Freshmen will receive the official application through the mail prior to the start of their first semester. NOTE: Only 12 students will be selected each year!!! |
