The Office of Government Relations, Grants, and Foundations has a two-fold mission:
• Foster communications for the University on the federal, state and local levels
• Promote institutional priorities and faculty research

Government Relations
The office acts as an advocate for the University on the federal, state and local levels. This effort includes developing and maintaining relationships with elected officials and helping to increase awareness of the University's initiatives, priorities, and issues. It also includes monitoring legislative and regulatory issues that may have an impact on the University and providing leadership, support, and guidance to faculty, students, and staff in their interactions with government officials.

Grants and Foundations
The office is a central source of information about governmental agencies and foundations which support educational initiatives. The director provides assistance to the campus community from conceptual development and planning through implementation of funded projects. Assistance is provided in identifying potential extramural funding sources; developing proposal narratives and budgets; completing standardized application forms; assisting in complying with University requirements and federal and state regulations; and administering funded projects.

For additional information or assistance, contact Rob Young, Director of Government Relations, Grants, and Foundations at (814) 472-3119 or ryoung@francis.edu.
