HISTORY FELLOWSHIP
Required Criteria:
Application
and letter of recommendation
Fellowship
awardees must be first-time, full-time freshmen. Fellowships cannot be awarded
to a student transferring into the academic major once they have enrolled at
the University.
Fellowship
awardees must be enrolled in the particular academic major, must remain in good
academic standing (3.0 GPA), and must demonstrate sufficient academic
progress.
Amount:
$8,000 ($2,000
each year for four years, undergraduate study only)
Conditions:
Must
meet and maintain all of the above criteria to be reviewed annually.
Must complete two of the following within four years:
- An internship
- A study abroad experience
- Present a research paper at a professional conference
- Complete an Independent Study for Departmental Honors
- Participation in a student club sponsored by the department
- Fulfill a work-study commitment within the academic department
- Assist History faculty with community outreach efforts
- Provide tutoring as needed, for students enrolled in History classes
- Complete an undergraduate research project in conjunction with a member of the History faculty
- Serve as a spokesperson for the department including communication with prospective students and parents
