Saint Francis University’s DiSepio Institute to Host Colorectal Cancer Awareness Program
Saint Francis University’s DiSepio Institute for Rural Health and Wellness will host an informational presentation on Colorectal Cancer on March 16, at 12:15 p.m. A member of the Pennsylvania Cancer Education Network, Jennifer Saylor, will present on Colorectal Cancer risks, symptoms, and screening procedures. The session will be held at the DiSepio Institute in the Ernest J. Scharpf Family Conference Center, room 213. The presentation is open to the public and admission to the event is free. March is the National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month. Colorectal Cancer, cancer of the colon or rectum, which affects men and women, is the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the United States. In addition, Colorectal Cancer is one of the most commonly diagnosed cancers in the United States. The risk of developing colorectal cancer increases with advancing age, more than 90% of cases occur in people ages 50 or older.
