Saint Francis University

(Loretto)-  Congressman Bill Shuster is pleased to announce that Saint Francis University has received a grant in the amount of $1.5 million over five years from the Department of Education as part of the agency’s ongoing “Strengthening Institutions Program.” 

The grant will be used to improve the university’s information technology system, cut down on administrative inefficiency and provide better services to students and faculty alike.

“Universities invest a great deal of money into their administrative systems that serve as the foundation upon which an academic program can be built,” Shuster said. “This grant will allow Saint Francis to modernize the information systems and technologies that we depend so much on in the Information Age.”

The grant will allow the university to develop better technology tools to add and enhance student and academic services.  It will enable the reengineering of the University’s basic business environment and streamline operational processes that maximize resources and reduce inefficiencies. It will provide complete access to accurate, consistent, and timely data for strategic planning to aid the growth of the university both in academic program as well as admissions.

“We sincerely appreciate Congressman Shuster’s efforts in securing with this grant,” said university president Father Gabriel Zeis, T.O.R. “This funding will allow us to strengthen our technology infrastructure and deliver better services to our campus community.  It will quite literally change the way we do business.”
