Curriculum:
30 Credits of collaborative online course work | Sequencing of MMS Program: Students will progress through the MMS program as a cohort starting when they begin their clinical rotations at their affiliated PA program. Students will complete 10 credits of coursework over 3 semesters to include: | PHYA 503 Research Methodology (3 credits) PHYA 507 Advanced Pharmacology (3 credits) PHYA 513 Clinical Residency Project (4 credits) | 10 credits of online SFU coursework |
The affiliated physician assistant program provides rotation experiences of similar quality and duration to those of SFU, as mandated by our mutual accreditation organization (The Accreditation Review Committee - Physician Assistants [ARC-PA]). In this respect, the student’s rotations are academically equivalent to the fifth year MPAS rotation experiences at SFU and are regarded as graduate level courses applicable to the MMS degree. Therefore, the SFU MMS program will accept twenty (20) credits of clinical rotations from the affiliated school that will constitute a “Primary Core Program.” In order to verify equivalency of clerkships students will be required to successfully complete clinical simulation testing similar to what Saint Francis PA students complete. These simulations will be open throughout the fall and spring semesters and must be completed before the conclusion of MMS coursework. | Primary Care Core Program | 20 credits of transfered coursework |
