Noted economist to speak at Saint Francis University

Dr. Arthur Laffer, noted economist and economic advisor, will speak at Saint Francis University on Thursday, February 9, at 6:30 p.m. in the John F. Kennedy Auditorium. His address is entitled Global Economic Outlook for 2012. Dr. Laffer’s lecture is presented under the auspices of the Dr. Albert A. Zanzuccki Endowed Chair in the School of Business Distinguished Lecture series. The event is open to the public and free tickets are available while supplies last.

Dr. Laffer is frequently referred to as “the father of supply-side economics” and is the creator of the famous Laffer Curve. He was a member of President Reagan’s Economic Policy Advisory Board for both of Reagan’s presidential terms. He has also advised other world leaders, such as Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher on the United Kingdom’s fiscal policy during the 1980’s. Dr. Laffer is a frequent contributor to the business press appearing on news shows, such as the MSNBC network, and writing about economic issues and their potential solutions in the Wall Street Journal.

To reserve tickets for an evening of serious dialogue about the economic challenges and opportunities facing our nation, contact the University’s School of Business at 814-472-3087 or jsemko@francis.edu.
