Office of Multicultural Affairs
The Office of Multicultural Affairs strives to promote cultural awareness on campus and in surrounding communities. It operates a center that serves as a place to plan and sponsor programs and activities that celebrate diversity and build community.
The Office of Multicultural Affairs is committed assisting students in attaining academic and social success. The Office works cooperatively with the campus community to assist minority students in adjusting socially, academically, and psychologically to life at Saint Francis University.
The Office embodies the mission of the University and is committed to:
Academic/Social/Personal Development
Peer Mentors -- the purpose of a Peer Mentor is to facilitate the needs of minority students as they relate to academics, and social and personal adjustments.
Cultural Development
Multicultural Awareness Society (MAS) -- the purpose of the organization is to increase the multicultural awareness and celebrate cultural difference.
Programs and Workshops
The Office, along with members of MAS, present programs and lead workshops and discussions on topics such as diversity, prejudice, racism, sexism, homophobia, and community building. These events and programs will enhance personal growth within the Saint Francis Community.
