ORIENTATION COUNSELORS

The Orientation Counselors (aka OC's) are the official welcoming committee of Saint Francis University. Our responsibilities include providing new students with an introduction to not only Saint Francis University, but our unique community and culture, and all the opportunities that await them. The Orientation Counselors are a team of highly selected ad trained upperclassmen students who are experts in achieving success at SFU. The Orientation Counselors are some of the most involved, academically sound, and socially-secure students at Saint Francis and their #1 objective is helping the new students feel right at home. By providing a solid example, new students are sure to be on their way to a successful and enjoyable college experience.  It all begins with the New Student Orientation program in which the OC's assist our newest community members -- read more below!

The Orientation Counselors experience seeks to establish integrated learning opportunities that will fully incorporate the core competencies of the F.L.A.S.H. Leadership initiative.

NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION

Our New Student Orientation program for incoming freshman students is designed to be comprehensive and offers 4 full days of intensive programming aimed at addressing the most pertinent issues as the new students prepare for their college-career at SFU.  See more about our New Student Orientation program.

Welcome Day is the start of the Orientation program whereas we officially welcome the new students to our community and get them settled within their new environment. This will include the Opening Ceremonies of the New Student Orientation program.

Academic Day is where we address all things academic. From advising and scheduling to academic success strategies, our aim is to make sure that our new students are fully prepared to take on this new educational experience.

Student Life & Wellness Day is where we will review student life expectations and how to survive the next four years as a member of the Saint Francis University community. Students will gain insight as to how to maintain proper perspective on health and wellness of the mind, body, and spirit, as well as develop an understanding of social wellness.

Leisure Day is the final day before Fall classes begin. New students can get organized, do some last-minute shopping, whatever they need to do before their college-career officially begins. This will also include the Closing Ceremonies of the New Student Orientation program.
