Red Flash Top Mount St. Mary’s 119-75 in First NEC Meet

LORETTO, Pa. (Dec. 6, 2008) - The Saint Francis swim team topped the Mount St. Mary’s Mountaineers 119-75 on Saturday afternoon at the Stokes Athletic Center in their first home meet of the season. The match up was also the Red Flash’s first Northeast Conference meet of the season.

The day started off with a bang for the Flash, with the 400-yard medley relay team of Jessica Dunn (Bristow, Va./Seton School), Katie Snyder (Dayton, Ohio/Butler), Abi May (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shaler Area) and Melissa Heintz (Boyertown, Pa./Oley Valley) taking first and setting a new pool record with a time of 4:05.09.

The Flash continued to roll, going 1-2-4 in the 1000-yard freestyle. Heintz won the event in 11:05.12, and was followed by Kristen Low (Mississauga, Ontario/Cawthra Park), who touched in 11:23.78. Blair Kosela (Crescent, Pa./Moon Area) grabbed fourth for SFU in a time of 11:36.43.
